THE 4 STAGES OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS:
STEP 1 - APPLY NOW!
The first step is easy, simply fill in this online application form to state your interest in the course and let us know how to reach you! The form is like any other and should take about 10 minutes to fill in.
The most important question regards your motivation for taking the course. This will be explored in greater detail later on in the selection process, so give your answer some thought and try to give plenty of details
STEP 2 - PRE-INTERVIEW TASK
Once we have received and reviewed your application form, we will write back to you with confirmation of your application and details of the pre-interview task, which is a series of exercises to complete in your own time.
These exercises are used to assess your English language awareness, and the answers you submit will be used for discussion during your CELTA course interview, the next stage of the process.
STEP 3 - INTERVIEW WITH A TUTOR
Following assessment of the pre-interview task, applicants are selected for an interview at the Oxford School of English or via Zoom). The interview includes a language awareness task and a discussion activity about language teaching.
While the interview is an evaluation of the candidate’s suitability to take the course, it should also be seen as an opportunity for you to ask questions to the main-course tutor and find out whether CELTA is the correct career choice.
STEP 4 - PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT
If the interview has been deemed successful, you will receive an email confirming your acceptance onto the CELTA course and providing details for the deposit payment that will safeguard your place.
The number of places on each course is limited, with applicants accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, so don’t miss out by applying late! When your place has been secured, we will send you the reading list to begin preparing your journey.
